Computer Specialties

Computer specialties include the following majors: Computer Science and Technology; Software Engineering; Network Engineering and Information Security. Among them, Computer Science and Technology and Software Engineering are two first-class majors developed on national level.

Curriculum Setting in Major Categories:

Basic courses of major disciplines (compulsory): Advanced Mathematics A (Ⅰ), Advanced Mathematics A (Ⅱ), College Physics B (Ⅰ), Foundations of Computer Science, C Language Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Discrete Mathematics

Elective courses for major disciplines (elective): Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Introduction to Cyberspace Security, and Introduction to Network Science and Engineering

Computer Science and Technology

Objectives: Training qualified builders and reliable successors of the socialist cause with all-around development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor. Equipped students with good humanistic quality, solid theoretical knowledge and professional skills of computer science and technology, international vision, innovative consciousness and teamwork ability, lifelong learning awareness and the ability to follow the development of computer frontier technology. Cultivating them as high-quality application-orientation talents like software and hardware system development engineers, software testing engineers, system repair engineers and project managers in computer enterprises and institutions.

Curriculums: Discrete mathematics, database system theory, digital logic and digital system, computer composition principle, data structure, operating system, software engineering, algorithm design and analysis, computer network, single-chip microcomputer technology, embedded system, interface and communication technology, computer system structure and others.

  After the freshmen of 2021 enter the university, 35 students will be selected to the pilot class of Computer Science and Technology within our school (national program for the education and training of outstanding engineers).

 

Software Engineering

Objectives: Training qualified builders and reliable successors of the socialist cause with all-around development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor. Equipped students with good humanistic quality, solid theoretical knowledge and professional skills of computer science and technology, international vision, innovative consciousness and teamwork ability, lifelong learning awareness and the ability to follow the development of computer frontier technology. Cultivating them as high-quality application-orientation talents like software and hardware system development engineers, software testing engineers, system repair engineers and project managers in computer enterprises and institutions.

Curriculums: data structure, database system theory, computer composition principle, compilers: principles, techniques, and tools, operating system, computer network, digital logic and digital system, software design of mobile platform, algorithm design and analysis, software engineering, software design and architecture, software project management, software testing, team motivation and communication and others.

After the freshmen of 2021 enter the university, 35 students will be selected to the pilot class of Software Engineering within our school (strategic emerging (pillar) industry talent training program in Hubei province and “Jingchu Outstanding Talents” Collaborative Education Program in Hubei Province).

 

Network Engineering

Objectives: : Training qualified builders and reliable successors of the socialist cause with all-around development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor. Equipped students with good humanistic quality, solid theoretical knowledge and professional skills of computer science and technology, international vision, innovative consciousness and teamwork ability, lifelong learning awareness and the ability to follow the development of computer frontier technology. Cultivating them as high-quality application-orientation talents like software and hardware system development engineers, software testing engineers, system repair engineers and project managers in computer enterprises and institutions.

Curriculums: data structure, computer composition principle, computer network, compilers: principles, techniques, and tools, operating system, network engineering design, software defined network, network security, network programming and protocol analysis, Internet of Things technology, database system theory, introduction to software engineering, digital logic and digital system, algorithm design and analysis and others.

 

Information Security

Objectives: Training qualified builders and reliable successors of the socialist cause with all-around development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor. Equipped students with good humanistic quality, solid theoretical knowledge and professional skills of computer science and technology, international vision, innovative consciousness and teamwork ability, lifelong learning awareness and the ability to follow the development of computer frontier technology. Cultivating them as high-quality application-orientation talents to engage in the security design, development, testing, operation, maintenance and management of information system hardware and software in information technology enterprises and institutions.

Curriculums: computer composition principle, operating system, computer network, information security mathematical foundation, cryptography, information theory and coding, software security, embedded system security, information system security, network security and others.
