IV. Cultivation methods
The cultivation of full-time academic graduate students adopts the cultivation method of supervisor responsibility system. The supervisor is responsible for guiding the graduate students to make personal training plans, write the proposal report, the mid-term progress report of the thesis and the dissertation, carry out academic (scientific) research, organize academic exchanges, and convene the guiding team to guide the graduate students. The tutoring team of graduate students is generally composed of 3~5 experts from inside and outside famous universities, including the tutors, who have the title of associate senior or above. The team of graduate tutors mainly assists in the daily guidance of graduate students and participates in all aspects of graduate training.

(1) Opening Report
One credit will be given for the written and oral defense presentation of the thesis topic. The score will be registered as pass/fail. Before the research topic is formally established, graduate students should complete the proposal report and apply for the proposal. After obtaining the consent of the supervisor, the thesis can enter the stage of paper work after the defense and discussion at the opening defense meeting. The written opening report should generally be 0.5~ 10 thousand words; There are generally no less than 40 references, of which no less than one third are in foreign languages, and no less than one third are published in the last five years. The proposal report and defense must be examined and approved, attended and signed by 3~5 teachers with the title of associate professor or above or with doctor's degree. If the candidate fails to pass the defense, he/she must make a new proposal report. After passing the evaluation of the proposal report, the applicant shall fill in the proposal report for postgraduate students completely and submit it to the college for retention, which shall be filed in the degree file upon graduation.
(2) Academic exchange
Academic exchange is a required course for full-time academic master's students, with 1 credit. The score will be registered as pass/fail. Postgraduate students must attend at least 15 academic exchanges. Each academic exchange should be recorded in writing, and the academic report should be written materials, and submitted to the supervisor for signature and approval. Before applying for a degree, a written record signed by the supervisor shall be submitted to the college for filing and corresponding credits shall be recorded.
(3) Interim progress report of the paper
Postgraduates are required to report the progress of their dissertation in the form of a report, with 1 credit, and the score is registered as pass/fail. Postgraduate supervisors and research team members participate in the evaluation and guidance. The graduate students shall fill in the contents of the mid-term examination in the Graduate Management Information System, and submit the Registration Form for the mid-term examination of the graduate students of Wuhan University of Science and Technology for the school to keep. The interim report must be completed in the fifth semester.
