Ⅰ.Introduction to the subject
Information and communication engineering is a discipline of engineering with complete basic knowledge, wide application fields and the most rapid development. Information and communication engineering is mainly a science that studies information acquisition, storage, transmission, processing, performance and their mutual relations, and is also an applied science that studies, designs and develops information and communication equipment and systems.
Information and communication engineering is mainly composed of two secondary disciplines, communication and information systems and signal and information processing. Among them, communication and information system mainly studies information theory, communication theory, transmission theory and technology, modern exchange theory and technology, communication system, information system, communication network theory and technology, multimedia communication theory and technology, etc. Signal and information processing mainly studies the basic method of signal representation, analysis and synthesis, the basic way and practical algorithm of extracting information from signals, the new design of all kinds of signals and information coding and decoding, and the theory and technology of improving the effectiveness and reliability of signal transmission and storage.
Relying on the School of Information Science and Engineering and the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing and Real-time Industrial System of Hubei Province, the discipline consists of the Research Institute of Deep Information Fusion, the Research Institute of Robotics and Intelligent System, the Image and Video Processing Laboratory, the Signal Processing and Fault Diagnosis Laboratory. It has established modern communication laboratory, Altera university-enterprise joint laboratory, EDA and embedded system laboratory and other advanced scientific research experimental platforms, which provide a reliable guarantee for the cultivation of graduate students' scientific research and technology development ability.
Ⅱ.Training objectives
This discipline cultivates high-level talents engaged in the research, development, teaching and management of information and communication engineering. Specifically, it should do the following:
1.With a high sense of enterprise and responsibility, advocating the spirit of scientific dedication, innovation, openness and team spirit, honest and trustworthy, abide by the academic ethics.
2.Have active academic thought and rigorous logical thinking, master solid and broad basic theory and systematic and in-depth specialized knowledge of the discipline, have the ability to independently engage in scientific research, be able to engage in scientific research, design, management, or other engineering and technical work of the discipline.
3.Have strong basic experimental skills, master the basic methods and technologies of engineering design, testing and debugging and comprehensive analysis of the discipline, have the ability to develop and develop related application software and hardware, and have good organization and coordination ability.
4.The ability to independently acquire new knowledge, search and analyze information, have good language and written expression ability, have the ability to write academic papers and works, and master and use a foreign language for literature reading and academic communication of the subject.
III. Research Direction
1. Multimedia information processing and communication
2. Signal and information processing
3. Next generation wireless communication technologies and systems
4. Autonomous navigation and space communication
5. Internet of Things and mobile Internet
6.Machine learning and data mining
7.Intelligent Science and Robotics
Ⅳ. Cultivation methods
The full-time academic postgraduate training adopts the supervisor responsibility system. The supervisor is responsible for guiding the graduate students to make personal training plans, write the proposal report, mid-term progress report and dissertation, carry out academic (scientific) research, organize academic exchanges, and convene the guidance team to guide the graduate students, etc. The graduate tutor guidance team is generally composed of 3~5 experts from famous universities including the tutor who have associate senior titles or above. The graduate tutor guidance team mainly assists in the daily guidance of graduate students and participates in all aspects of graduate training
Ⅴ. Length of schooling and length of study
Full-time master degree students, the length of schooling is 3 years, the length of study is generally 2~3 years; Part-time graduate students study for a master's degree, the length of schooling is 3 years, the length of study is generally 3~4 years. The maximum length of study for master's degree is 5 years (including suspension)
Ⅵ.Research
1. Proposal report
A written report on the topic of the thesis will be recorded for 1 credit, and the score will be registered as pass/fail. Before the research topic is formally established, the graduate students should complete the proposal report and apply for the proposal. After obtaining the supervisor's consent, the thesis can enter the stage after the thesis defense and discussion in the opening defense meeting. The written opening report should generally be 0.5~ 10,000 words; There are generally no less than 40 references, of which more than one third are in English. The opening report and defense shall be examined, attended and signed by 3~5 teachers with associate professors or doctoral degrees. Those who fail to pass the defense must make a new opening report. After passing the evaluation of the opening report, he/she must complete the "Master's Opening Report" and submit it to the school for retention. It will be included in the degree file upon graduation. In principle, the opening report of graduate students should be completed in the third semester, and may be postponed to the fourth semester under special circumstances. In order to ensure sufficient time for thesis work, the time interval between submission of thesis proposal and thesis defense should not be less than 9 months
2. Academic exchanges
Academic exchange is a compulsory course for full-time academic postgraduate students. One credit is required, and the score is determined by passing/failing registration. Postgraduate students must attend at least 6 academic exchanges. Each academic exchange should be recorded in writing, and the academic report should be written and submitted to the supervisor for signature and approval. Before applying for the degree, the written record signed by the supervisor should be submitted to the college for record and recorded accordingly
3. Mid-term progress report
The graduate students must report the progress of the dissertation in the form of report, and the graduate supervisors and members of the research group must participate in the evaluation and guidance, 1 credit will be recorded, and the score will be registered as pass/fail. The interim report is due in the fifth semester
Graduate students to complete all training links, degree thesis with reference to the requirements of the relevant the wuhan university of science and technology, PhD, master's graduate students to apply for the regulation of degree academic achievements ", wuhan university of science and technology of doctor, master's degree awarded work detailed rules and the wuhan university of science and technology graduate dissertation testing regulations (try out) "and other documents.
In addition to referring to the above documents, the graduate students of information and communication engineering academic degree should also meet the relevant requirements of the School of Information Science and Engineering for graduate students to apply for the degree and obtain academic results.
